What Do You Cry For?Sorrow is not a unique experience. It is not the exclusive domain of any people, time, or place. It touches us all, personally and corporately. This website offers a space for people to share their stories of pain or forgiveness, confusion or anger, desires for revenge, or steps towards reconciliation. It is for personal stories and communal stories. It is for your story. Our stories change over time. While at one point we are a victim, at another we are a perpetrator. While at one point we seethe with anger, at another we find the release of forgiveness. Sometimes I despair that I've needed to forgive the same offense many times. Forgiveness can be an elusive state. I invite you to share your stories, indeed your journey, through life here — particularly those moments in which you have pursued or reflected on issues of peace. They may include understanding others, understanding yourself, community loyalty, or community betrayal. It encompasses paradoxes of justice with reconciliation, views on anger (or the lack thereof at injustice), global action (and inaction), and individual choices to live in a more loving way. Please share your stories with us. |
